About OaklandGoalOur goal is to build God’s Kingdom in love through the Great Commission and the Great Commandment.Mission StatementOver the past 150 years, many ministries, programs and committees have been formed to carry on God’s work throughout the church, the community, the State and even the world. God has blessed us so much and it is “Oakland’s purpose to honor our Lord Jesus Christ through praise and worship, guiding lost souls to Him, developing committed disciples, and ministering in His name to all people.” The elements of this vision statement are to: 1. Gather to praise and worship our Lord, grow closer to Him, and receive direction and strength for ministry. (2 Chron. 7:14)2. Go into the world guiding others to know Jesus. (Matt. 28:19-20)
3. Grow committed disciples through worship, ministry, teaching, and living Christian values. (Eph. 4:11-13)
4. Give of ourselves and our resources as we minister to all people in fellowship and love. (John 13:34-35; Mt. 25:40)
