The local Disaster Recovery Center office is located in the Triangle Plaza, 502 E. Main Street, in Louisa.  At this office you may register or receive other help including application for low interest loans, counseling assistance and other types of recovery help.

Here are some things to remember:

First, FEMA will only work with those who have the nine digit number issued by their office.  Be certain those seeking help have this number.
Second, the time frame to apply for help ends sixty days after the declaration of a disaster is given.  Do not wait, apply as soon as possible.
Third, the list created by the Louisa County government is a separate list from that which FEMA will follow.  You must apply directly to FEMA to receive assistance.
Fourth, although FEMA does not help with cosmetic repairs, apply even if you are not certain you would qualify for any relief.
Fifth, when you receive your application packet, complete ALL forms within the packet.  Failure to complete all the paperwork will result in the denial of your claim.

If you have any questions you may call the numbers above or visit the office in Louisa.  It is open Monday through Saturday  (except Thanksgiving) from 10:00am to 6pm.

Please note:
That if your water pressure changes or you notice a difference in your well water that you may want to have your well inspected.
If you choose to have your chimney inspected, we are told that $75 - $150 is a normal price range. This of course, depends on the size of the chimney.

If you get phone calls from FEMA, please note that they will NEVER ask you for any credit card information nor will they ask for your entire Social Security Number to identify you.

**If you registered with the county you STILL need to contact the FEMA office.**
